14/05/2013 14:58: Funding Boost for Warmley War Memorial Hall & Community CentreWarmley War Memorial Hall & Community Centre is today celebrating the news that it has received a £9,800.00 funding boost from SITA Trust for their project "Warmley Community Centre Exterior Building Renovation ".
Funding will allow removal of the cement rendering from the front high street side of the building and car park side of the building. To make good other patches on the remainder of the building and enhance and preserve the Centre by repainting the whole of the outside walls using masonry paint in the same colour. All guttering to be repaired and a replacement window fitted.
Kevin Rogers the chairman of W.W.M.H. & C.C. who is leading the project said that the SITA Trust grant has enabled the Centre to repair and enhance the exterior of the building. Without this funding the Centre would have taken many years to raise the funds, which would have increased the damage to the exterior and caused the repair costs to be even higher. Protecting the outside of the building from the harsh weather has secured the inside of the Centre.
The Centre holds many activities for all ages from the very young to the more senior members of the community. This funding has helped the Centre to continue to offer low cost hire to all, enabling many small groups and charities to have a meeting place for their activity. So on behalf of the Warmley Community Centre thank you SITA Trust for your support and we look forward to working with you again in the future. The Centre is pleased to report that throughout the application and project SITA Trust staff were always at hand to help and advise and we would not hesitate to apply again.
